February just flew by!

The month of February just seemed to fly by!  The biggest change that we had was that Brandon started full time in the preschool room.  He started a new daycare since his prior daycare provider closed in the end of December in January at Rocking Horse Day School.  He started in the infants room and it was a bit of a rough transition for him to get used to his new teacher and a more structured environment.  He transitioned to the preschool room in February full time after spending quite a bit of time there part time.  I was amazed at how much vocabulary Brandon has picked up now in preschool.  He is talking in full sentences now and can count to ten and is starting to identify various colors.  Gross motor wise he can now pedal his trike for a little ways at a time and began to play with his scooter.  We kept Brandon in Gymboree class this month which he continued to love and had several play dates with his good pal Logan.

Valentine's Day was an especially special day this year for us as we had our 20 week Anatomy scan on Valentine's Day.  We got double confirmation we were having a girl and most importantly we found out she was healthy.  Brandon had a really fun Valentine's Day party at school and I got to go to his special Valentine's Day breakfast.  We continued the tradition of "cupid" coming and visiting the house on Valentine's Day.  Cupid brought Brandon Gymboree bubbles and a little wooden Ikea train set.  We also dressed up Elmo in a pink tutu to announce that we are having a baby girl that day.

The dark dreary months of January...

January and February are my least favorite months of the year.  The fun of the Christmas and New Years holidays is over and it is a long stretch until the next vacation for Memorial Day.  In Oregon these two months are generally very dreary and dark and rainy as well which does not help.  January actually went by fairly quickly.  It was a great month as we found out towards the end of the month that we are having a little girl.

I took Brandon to the Children's Museum several times that month and Brandon loved it!  He loves playing with the train table at the Children's Museum especially and he loves looking at the model train that is nearby.  It was very nice that Brandon got a Children's Museum yearly pass from my parents for his birthday.  We also went to Gymboree class every Saturday and it was amazing to see how Brandon can now run all over all the apparatuses so easily.  We also had several play dates with Brandon's best bud Logan.  It is so fun to see how happy the boys playing together.

A Sweet Baby Girl!

At 17 weeks, Sean and I found out that we are expecting a sweet baby girl!  The tech was pretty confident but I was worried still that it may be too early.  We just told close friends and family and waited until 20 weeks for the double confirmation to tell everyone else.  I was so excited when I found out that she was a girl that I got a little teary eyed and said "this will complete our family!"  Brandon especially seems to take to baby girls so that was another reason I was excited about it. I have to admit that I went a little crazy after I found out she was a girl with getting some girl baby clothes (I had been eying them longingly for a while).  I felt pretty good at 17 weeks, was less tired and felt like more like myself.  I kept exercising 3 times a week and my weight gain was actually less than it was with Brandon.

My ultrasound at 20 weeks was the longest one thus far.  Baby girl was moving around a lot and not in great positions for measurements so it took almost an hour to get all the measurements needed for the anatomy scan.  I loved it of course because I got to see more of her.  We had our 20 week ultrasound on Valentine's Day and I was very nervous that either the baby had a major health issue or that they were wrong that she was a girl with my 17 week ultrasound.  I was so happy when I found out that she was healthy and still a girl.  She was a nice sized girl too weighing in at approximately 14 ounces (which would have put her about 2 weeks ahead of the average weight).
