Olivia's third birthday party-A My Little Pony themed party!

Olivia was really into My Little Pony's at the time so we decided to have a My Little Pony themed birthday party.  Brandon at 3 also loved My Little Pony's and got a pack of them from Costco that Olivia loves playing with now.  I found the most adorable birthday outfit on Easy and the seller custom designed it for me since Olivia loves Fluttershy (the yellow pony) and it turned out so cute!  She is still wearing it now after her birthday since it is so cute.  We decided to have her birthday party about 10 days early (the last weekend in June) due to the 4th of July being on a Monday and we thought people might want to take long trips and we were gone the weekend after her actual birthday in Sun River.  Olivia invited all the girls in her class at Rocking Horse (Summer, Ines, Lauren, Adelaide, and Kennedy) and James who is in her class and Gino in Jr. K class.  She also invited our family friends Mikayla and Trevin, Logan and Addie, Gavin and Grant.  Everyone was able to come except for 3 so we had at one time around 14 kids at the party (including our kids and a few siblings that came).  We also had my parents and Sean's mom and Grandma.  We also had all their parents as well!  We were so pleased that so many people could come and celebrate with us.

I went a little overboard with Olivia's party this year with the decorations and the food!  I looked on Pinterest a lot and got the idea to do a Rainbow food theme due to Rainbow dash!  I also got the idea for her birthday cake which Lamb's Thriftway created for me.  She chose to have a white cake with strawberry filling and buttercream frosting (yum!).  While my ideas were good, I ended up with way too much food and almost ran out of time making everything.  I ended up making Rainbow Dash marshmallow treats (Captain crunch and marshmallows), sprinkled dipped wafers with chocolate, veggie tray that was rainbow colored, rainbow colored fruit sticks (with grapes, cantaloupe, watermelon, pineapple), Chicago mixed popcorn, and pretzel crisps with hummus.  I also made a big mason jar of strawberry lemonade with real strawberries in it and had beer for the adults.  Lastly, I was worried that I was going to run out of cake so I made a batch of Funfetti cupcakes and whipped up a batch of buttercream frosting for the cupcakes and decorated them.  It was a mad dash at the end to get everything done.  I got Olivia's decorations, her piñata and her balloons on Amazon which saved some money.  Luckily, My Little Pony was pretty popular and easy to find.  I was about as excited as Olivia for her party since I love My Little Pony myself when I was her age.

We were lucky that the weather took a turn for the better and was in the mid 70s and sunny at the time of her birthday.  I was glad that we ended up having her birthday in the late afternoon so it could warm up.  We got out the swimming pools and the sand table and had our play structure to play on.  I also got rainbow colored bubble sticks that all the kids seemed to enjoy.  Everyone had so much fun in our backyard!  Although the kids did get cold when they got out.

Then it was cake time!  Olivia loved having her friends sing to her and blowing out the candles on her cake.  She had a bit of cake with ice-cream and cupcakes.  After cake, Olivia opened up her presents.  She got so many nice presents this year from her friends-Barbies, My Little Ponies, Shopkins, and Littlest Pet Shop, and 2 horses.  She loved them all!  To end the party, we had two piñatas.  I ended up getting one of Pinkie Pie on Amazon that was a pull string one but it only was for 5-8 people and was really small so I ran into Target and got a cupcake one as well.  We ended up letting the little kids do the Pinkie Pie one and the big kids do the traditional cupcake one.  Everyone was excited for candy (especially Olivia!).  Such a fun party and I loved seeing my little girl so happy with her friends.
