Birthday celebrations and Mother's Day!

We went down to Corvallis to celebrate my birthday a bit early this year (the last week in April) as we had Logan's birthday party to go too the Saturday before my birthday and Mother's day the Sunday before my birthday.  My mom was also having eye surgery the Tuesday before my Birthday so she needed to recuperate and not lift anything heavier than 10 lbs.  We went down to Corvallis after a morning filled with a t-ball game and gymnastics lessons (we went to the earlier 8:45 session).  We got down to Corvallis and had a good fun play and then had naps.  My mom and I were able to sneak away to look at my favorite home decorating store in Corvallis (Inkwell) and I found the cutest table runner there.  We then headed back and the kids were up from their nap and took them to the park.  We were so lucky that the weather was awesome that weekend!  We played Lava tag with the kids and got a work out at Walnut Park while Baba and Pumpkin ran around.

We then went out to dinner to celebrate my birthday at Big River and had an epic memorable dinner there.  The service was crazy slow due to it being Mom's weekend.  Bottom line we ordered right away and got there with our reservation at 5:30 PM and did not end up leaving until 8:00 PM.  The cocktails were smaller, meal portions were tiny, and it was a bit disappointing but still memorable and a fun birthday dinner.  Needless to say, we will not be returning to Big River.

We spent the next day taking the kids to the park and hanging out.  Sean and I went to our favorite cider place, 2 Towns Cider and got to have some fun adult time tasting cider and watching the end of the Portland Timbers game.  We brought two growlers and took home some yummy cider with us.

The following weekend we went out to dinner at Old Market Pub on Friday evening to celebrate my actual birthday early since it fell on a Monday.  I picked the kids up early from school and got to hang out with the kids before hand at the zoo (one of my favorite places).  We had a great dinner outside in beautiful weather with excellent service.  On Sunday, Mother's day, I got to sleep in until 9:00 AM and Sean made me a yummy breakfast.  In the afternoon, I got to escape and go get a pedicure with Brooke and we went shopping for a bit and got a drink at Red Robin's.  It was very nice to have some adult time with my friend and not have to deal with kids shouting for our attention.  We came back and Sean made an excellent filet mignon dinner for me with salad and crescent rolls and yummy Acrobat Pinot Noir.  Brandon's school also had a really cute Mother's day Taco night and they sang us some cute songs.

My actual birthday fell on a Monday and we all had to go to work and to day care.  Brandon also had swim lessons that evening.  We all had dinner together and I got to eat a yummy berry tart that we got at Fred Meyer's bakery.  The kids sang me happy birthday, I made a wish, and blew out the candle!  A great birthday, can't believe I am now 35 and officially in my mid 30s and only 5 years away from turning 40!
