January 2021 activities-bringing on a new promising year!

We spent New Year's Eve and a few days after down in Eugene at Sean's parents house.  I had to work New Year's Eve and arrived in time for dinner at Sean's parent's house.  It was Sean's dad's birthday and he wanted steak, lobster, and shrimp.  We had a very yummy dinner and then sat around outside by the fire listening to music and having s'mores.  We all made it to midnight to say goodbye to this awful year and to wish a more promising 2021.  There was hope and optimism as vaccines were being distributed and we were hopeful of a more normal 2021.  I did my favorite photos of 2020 again (I did two this time).  It was a fun way to end an exhausting and draining year!

Not all was lost as we still did a lot of fun stuff!

We started off the year with a fun trip to the Oregon coast to see my parents' new beach house they closed on New Year's Eve in Bella Beach just outside of Depoe Bay.  Sean and I gave ourselves a new King size Tempurpedic bed for Christmas and Brandon got our old Queen size tempurpedic bed and so we donated his nice bunk bed set to my parents' beach house and brought it down there.  We met up with my mom and enjoyed a beautiful afternoon on the Oregon Coast.  My parents' beach house was so nice and it was our first time getting to see it.  We loved the cute community around it and going to the neighborhood park.  We only stayed for one night but were excited to enjoy it for many years to come.

My Solo fire pit arrived in mid January and I was so excited to use it!  We had a fun fire pit and Brandon and Sean made yummy sushi from their new sushi maker.  The kids celebrated Martin Luther King Jr at their tutor Sheri's house by making I have a dream clouds.  We watched Joe Biden and Kamala Harris be sworn in as our president and Vice President-the first female Vice President!  We celebrated my dad's 69th birthday at my sister's house and Teddy Rux got a very cute haircut.  Towards the middle of January there was surprise snow and the kids had fun snow day at their tutor's house and made snowmen.

We went back to my parents' beach house towards the end of January with my sister Rachel's family.  It was our first time staying overnight with her without masks since our Bend trip in August.  It was so much fun for the cousins to get together.  We loved being able to go down to the beach so easily and enjoying such a big house together with so much room.  Unfortunately the weather was really rainy but we made the most of it still and went to Fogarty state park and Bella Beach of course.

Night walks on the beach are fun!

We love Bella Beach even when its stormy!

So much fun in our neighborhood!

We celebrated Teddy Rux's first birthday the Sunday we got back from the beach (his actual birthday).  He was 1!  It was a big celebration put together by Olivia and Addie.  They went to the Dollar Store and bought like half the store for party supplies for Teddy and threw him the best birthday party ever!  We got him a cute party hat through Bark Box and invited both Brooke and our entire family to the party.  Teddy loved being the center of attention and being sung happy birthday.  He was the life of the party!  He even got a little cupcake and had a candle to blow out.

Birthday boy is 1!

Addie and Olivia did a fantastic job planning Teddy's birthday
