Olivia turns 5-family celebration

Olivia turned 5 on a Friday this year.  My mom happened to come the day before (the 5th to watch the kids) and we had been planning on her watching them on her actual birthday the 6th.  My sister was also off that day and brought my nephew Jasper over for the day to play.  Olivia woke up that morning and found all of her birthday presents out on the dining room table downstairs.  She got to open up her presents before Sean left for work that day.  Olivia got a Ice cream truck for her dolls from CiCi and Baba, an American Girl doll, a cute unicorn backpack for Kindergarten with a Shopkins thermos and a rainbow lunch bag, 3 Playmobile Sets from us, Brandon got Olivia Beados (little beads that mold into various creations), she also got a Barbie Animal Rescue set, a unicorn with a mermaid on it, and a new 16" bike that she loved and got on right away.

After we finished opening up presents, we all went to the Tigard Donut shop for breakfast donuts.  Olivia was happy to find a pink donut with sprinkles.  They met Jasper and Rachel at Synder Park in Sherwood and had a blast there.  Then they came back to my house for rest time and CiCi took Brandon and Olivia out to frozen yogurt in the afternoon as a treat.  Then Sean came home from work and we all headed to Red Robin for dinner (Olivia's choice).  Olivia loved her Red Robin and her sundae that she got and enjoyed everyone singing to her the crazy Red Robin song.  After dinner, we headed back home and did a lot of our left over fireworks outside our house.  Olivia got to do her special Pink Diamond firework she chose out and loved it.  It was a very special birthday for Olivia.

4th of July 2018

4th of July fell on a Wednesday this year, right smack in the middle of the week.  I had to work the two days before but luckily my mom was coming on the 5th to watch the kids so they at least were able to sleep in the next day and not have to rush off to camps.  I got up pretty early that day and did my workout and then we got ready to meet the Mowery Family at the start of the King City parade which started around 9:30 AM.  Brandon rode his bike and Olivia rode her scooter and they had a blast going a little over a mile to the King City park.  Brooke's family had done the parade before but this was the first time we had done it and it was really fun.  People threw candy to the kids and everyone was dressed up in their 4th of July clothes and decorated their bikes and their pets.  When we got the park they had fun booths set up and a bounce house and food.  I let the kids get cotton candy.  Then Sean picked us up and we headed to the store to get a few last minute things for our 4th of July BBQ we were hosting.

Special 4th of July gum-a tradition my mom started with us that she did as a child

We set up pools in the backyard and water balloons.  Sean made BBQ pork and we had our friends Jaime and Ben over along with the entire Mowery family and the Cullimore family.  Everyone had fun together and the food was so good.  Jaime made us a yummy strawberry mint and coconut mojito.  It was a very fun evening.  Then, once it got dark we headed over to the Mowery's for fireworks.  The kids had a blast with the fireworks per usual.  Olivia got quite tired and fell asleep in the car.  The kids were in bed late but not too late by 10:30 PM.  It was another very fun 4th of July with friends!
