Alberta Rider's Rocking Fun night, celebrating Jasper's birthday, and one last snow in March!

Brandon and I had such a fun night at our 3rd Alberta Rider's Rocking Fun night (mother-son dance). We met up Logan and Brooke at Roxy's for Hawaiian food and then headed to the dance together.  Brandon had a blast with his friends mostly running the halls of the school and playing tag.  We didn't get too many dances in but that was ok as my 8 year old was asserting his independence.

Olivia had gymnastics the next day and I got some fun shots of her working on the bars.

We met up with my mom and my sister and her husband Patrick at the Oregon zoo later that day on Saturday to celebrate my nephew's 3rd birthday.  Jasper had a blast at the zoo with his cousins.  He then came back to our house for pizza and had fun opening up his presents.  He also loved us signing happy birthday to him.

We had another surprise snow storm towards the end of the first week in March.  This time the freak snow storm happened in the early evening on a Friday and it snowed 2-3 inches in an hour!  At this point we were getting quite tired of the snow and were ready for spring!

Crazy snow in March!

Such beautiful snowflakes this time!

Tidying up-Marie Kondos effect on our house!

Right after New Year's day I began watching a new reality show on Netflix called Tidying up with Marie Kondos.  I had never heard of Marie Kondos but a lot of people had read her book about simplifying your life and living a more minimalist lifestyle.  Her show followed families and couples around and documented their journey in purging and organizing their household of needless items that do not bring "them joy."  It was a simple concept and was so inspiring.  The kids and Sean helped  me purge the house and determine what brought our family joy.  It took about 6 weeks but we were able to purge the entire house and go through everything and even do our garage.  Our house looks so much cleaner and it is so nice to know where everything is!

Late February Activities

The last weekend of February I celebrated my sister's baby shower and baby Juniper's upcoming arrival.  We had a fun brunch in Dundee at Ponzi.

Later that night Sean and I went out and celebrated a late Valentine's Day and had dinner at the Mason in Sherwood and then went to a fun wine bar nearby in Sherwood.  It was nice having some adult time.

Wine flight fun!
We celebrated Brandon's last basketball game on Sunday.  It was so fun watching him progress since earlier in the year.

I got some cute pictures of Lulu with a pony tail as the hair around her eyes was getting so long.

Brandon submitted a picture he drew for the cover of the yearbook this year and Olivia celebrated her 100th day of school at Alberta Rider with fun activities.  We also had more snow towards the end February again.

Snow day in late February

Towards the end of February, the kiddos got another snow day (their 2nd full one of the year) and were happy to wake up to 2.5" of snow!  They had enough this time to sled in our neighborhood.  I enjoyed the snow more this time because it actually snowed heavily throughout the morning and was so pretty to see.  I got my morning work out done and then we headed out to the hill in our neighborhood a few blocks down and had a blast sledding for an hour.  We headed back home and I made yummy Pumpkin pancakes for breakfast.

We came back home and spent the rest of the afternoon finishing up Brandon's Harry Potter Hogwarts Hall huge lego set, making Snickerdoodle cookies, and snuggling up by the fireplace and playing Mario Party together.  It was a really fun snow day!
