Fun Trip to Roloff Farms

Two years ago, we went to the Roloff Farms' Pumpkin patch and had a blast.  The Roloffs are a famous "Little Family" with the parents being little people and one of the kids and they have been filmed for over 10 years on the show Little People Big World.  We were planning on going back there last year but the weather was so terrible (it rained and rained and rained basically from the end of September through Halloween) that the weekend we were planning on going it was a terrible storm.  We were able to fit in Lee Farms when it was miraculously dry one Saturday last year in October but we didn't have enough time to travel all the ways out to Roloff Farms (it is quite a bit farther).

This year, Brooke and I decided to try to hit up Roloff Farms not on a weekend but on a Friday that the kids did not have school.  We figured it would be less busy.  We were lucky because it was supposed to rain all week on Friday and then we woke up and it was a bright sunny day.  It looked like we were going to get lucky and it wasn't supposed to rain at all.  We headed over to the Mowery's  house as we were going to try to carpool with them in their van.  Unfortunately we were not able to all fit in their van so I ended up taking Olivia and Addie with me in my car and Brooke took all of the boys-Logan, Brandon, and Luke.  Olivia and Addie enjoyed rocking out to songs from the the My Little Pony on the way.

We got to Roloff Farms and the weather continued to look promising.  Even though we arrived fairly early we had to wait forever to go on the hay ride.  They only had one going at first.  Our wagon tour ended up being Audrey's mom from the show (one of the Roloff son Jeremy's mother in law).  It was cool talking to her and she loved Olivia's hair.  The hay ride is much better than most hay rides on pumpkin patches.  It is guided and about 30 minutes long and takes you all along their property which is really cool if you watch the show and see the places in the show.  The kids haven't watched the show and still had a blast because there was a cool pirate ship you got to see, you got to go through a barn, and they dropped us off at Western Town (which was a wild west type little village).

Excited for the Pumpkin patch!

After the wagon ride, we went into the Kids Adventureland where they had all sorts of fun activities for the kids including a fun barrel slide, all terrain trikes, fun wheels that you can run in, a corn maze, gold panning, some tire swings, a spooky trail, a exotic animal exhibit and a giant hay stack that kids could climb up on in the middle.  The kids had a blast with all of the activities and enjoyed running around and doing all of the activities.  Unfortunately just after we got there some dark clouds came through and it poured down rain for 20 minutes.  Luckily we were able to run under cover at the sand pits and let the kids play in sand for a bit until it stopped pouring.  After going down the slides and playing in the sand box we headed to the Spooky Trail.  Both of my kids loved the spooky trail and enjoyed all of the decorations set up.

The slide was really fast!

The boys stopped so I could get a picture of them with the ghost
After the spooky trail, we explored some more and the kids climbed up this giant ladder and sat down on this giant chair.  They went on the all terrain trikes and went panning for gold.  They also had a blast going through the corn maze.

After all of the fun festivities we went to the pumpkin patch and the kids had fun walking around the patch and looking at all of the pumpkins.  We didn't buy a pumpkin there as we wanted to wait until it was closer to Halloween but the kids still had fun pulling around the pumpkin wheel barrow.  We got some cute pictures of the kids amongst the pumpkins too.

After the pumpkins we spotted pony rides for $5.  The kids both love horses so we agreed to let them go on the pony rides.  They had a blast and the pony people were so nice and even let Luke go without charging us.  The ponies were all rescued ponies that were going to be slaughtered and this non-profit farm saved them.  They were the sweetest ponies.  After the pony rides we ate lunch that we brought.  The kids got an ice-cream treat and Brooke and I were going to get our apple cider donuts and then it started pouring so we rushed to the car.  We had to get back to King City City hall so we could get the kids' passports (we had to apply in person) and Sean was meeting us there as they closed early on Fridays at 4:00 PM.  We had a really fun day but could have spent even longer there next time!
