Pomerleau Family Blog: Addie's 6th birthday party and a quick trip to the beach in mid July

Olivia and Brandon went to Olivia's good friend Addie's birthday party. Brandon was excited that he got to play with Logan. Addie had her party at Pump It Up and both kids had a blast jumping around and celebrating Addie turning 6. Olivia got Addie a virtual pet cat and a LOL little sister for her birthday.

Earlier in the week Sean and I had decided we wanted to take the kids to the beach for a night. The weather was good and we were able to find a dog friendly hotel right on the beach in Lincoln City. We stayed at Surf Tides before with Brooke and Addie last year and had a good time there. We left mid morning and got to Lincoln City in the early afternoon. Surf tides was super nice and let us check in early. Then we headed to the beach and played on the beach most of the afternoon. We got to see a beach motorcycle rescue as a teenager got caught up in sneaker waves out in the ocean and a surfer was able to save her. Sean saw it all from our balcony. Lulu loved being at the beach and was well behaved enough that I was able to let her off leash most of the time.

We went to a really good Mexican restaurant near our house for dinner. Then we headed back to the hotel and the kids went swimming. It was so fun watching the sunset from our balcony on the hotel. The pool was nice and the hot tub was really hot. We came back to the room and went to bed. I ended up letting Olivia sleep with me and Lulu and that was a mistake. Lulu was super restless and kept jumping on our bed. Olivia and I did not get the best sleep.

The next day we woke up to a beautiful sunny day. We went to breakfast at our hotel which was super yummy and then the kids went back and swam in the pool. Then we packed up and checked out and then stayed and played on our beach for several hours. The kids made a sand castle and Lulu ran up and down the beach. She also made a friend and played with her friend for quite a while chasing him around the beach. Both the kids and Lulu loved chasing the waves and going into the water. It was a very fun time spent at the beach and we will have to come back!
