First fun weeks in March (little did we know our last weeks of normalcy)

We went with Brandon's Cub Scout pack to Aberley lodge near Mt. Hood on March 1st.  We got lucky because it snowed hard the day before and it was a bright sunny day.  We ended up carpooling up to the mountain with the Mowery family.  Brandon had a birthday party with his good friend Josh at 1:30 and Logan had a birthday party at the same time as well so we left early in the morning about an hour earlier than everyone else and was up to the lodge by 9:30 AM.  This was nice because we were able to get a parking spot right near the lodge for once so we didn't have to do the long trail walk from the parking lot like we normally do.  Addie came this time so Olivia was happy to have a friend.  We had a good solid 2 hours at the mountain.  The kids had fun flying down the hill and I even went down several times.  It was fun but rough in some spots with bounces.  The kids had fun making snow forts and burying each other.  We headed back down the mountain and stopped at Dairy Queen and got a treat and got the boys to their birthday parties on time!

We got to spend the rest of the day with my mom who was in town for Jasper's birthday party the day before and they were flying to Hawaii the next day.  She also was dropping off Pumpkin at our house for 9 days.  We had a fun day with her and got yummy Mexican take out.  Little did I know it would be my last time seeing her months...

I went to Costco on Monday March 2nd and took the dogs on a walk and I just started feeling awful.  I felt really lethargic and tired.  I came back home and took my temperature and found it to be 102!  Needless to say I spent the rest of the week working from bed and resting.   My temperature lasted almost to Friday.  At that point, there were just beginning to be cases about a new virus called COVID 19 that was wrecking havoc in China and starting to spread to the United States.  I had many of the symptoms as COVID 19 aside from a cough so I could have had just a bad flu.  It is hard to say.  Luckily by Friday I was beginning to feel better and I was able to go to Olivia's second to last basketball game on Saturday.  We had a pretty laid back and quiet weekend and enjoyed spending time with Pumpkin.  Little did we know that this would be one of our last normal weekends!

Costco on March 2nd-already no toilet paper and people were buying stuff like crazy!
Check out line was nuts and took us 45 minutes on March 2nd!

Meanwhile over the weekend, the Coronavirus news seemed to be getting worse.  It was spreading more worldwide, especially in Italy where hundreds of people were dying each day.  The news was talking about the virus more and it was looking more and more like it was going to spread heavily in the United States.  We went on with life as normal.  Olivia and I took Lulu and Pumpkin on a walk during Brandon's baseball practice and my parents came back home from Hawaii (had no issues getting back home luckily) late on Tuesday March 10th.  They picked Pumpkin up but I didn't get to see them because it was so late.  Olivia was sad to see Pumpkin go!  I went to Olivia's gymnastics on Wednesday March 11th (which ended up being her last gymnastics class before COVID hit) and had fun watching her.  She has progressed so much!
