4th of July

We got back from the beach by mid afternoon.  Sean was not feeling well and said his stomach was hurting.  We headed to the store to do a quick grocery shopping trip and made it through that.  We got back and Sean felt worse so he took a nap and I made the kids take a nap while I unpacked the entire car and put everything away and did a ton of laundry.  It was stressful because we had our housekeeper coming the next day as well so I had to get the house all clean on top of unpacking and doing laundry.  The kids finally fell asleep and I got them up at around 5:00 and we finally left to go to our good friend the Mowery's house for 4th of July dinner and fireworks.  Sean was still not feeling well so he stayed home to sleep.  The kids were super excited to see each other.  The girls went off and played with their Barbies and "had a picnic."  The boys went outside and played with water balloons and in the kid pool.  Taylor made some yummy shish kabobs and we brought over corn and baked beans and dessert.  After we ate dinner we went out to the culd-a-sac and watched fireworks with all of Brooke's neighbors.  There was some good illegal fireworks and it was a lot of fun.  It was really fun watching the kids get excited about fireworks.  Throwing smoke bombs with the kids was a hit.  The sparklers were a hit as well.  The firework package we got from Costco was great too.  It was a very fun evening.  I only wished I had the next day off from work.

We had some fun a few days later when Sean felt better lighting some leftover fireworks off in our driveway near our house.  The kids had fun doing this.
