Sunriver fun in 2018

We left for Sun River the second Saturday of July this year.  Olivia got to go to her friend Adelaide's birthday party at the Wilsonville fountains on the way to Sun River.  We were a bit late packing everything up but made it to the party and Olivia had fun with her friends.  Then we were on our way for the 3 hour drive to Sun River.  We stopped off in Bend on the way and ate an early dinner at 10 Barrels Brewery.  Sean and I split a yummy pizza and salad.  Then we went to Fred Meyer's in Bend on the way to to get all of our groceries for the week.  We got to our rental house and then unpacked and we all went into the hot tub that evening to relax.  We were pleased to see that the rental house was kept up well and that they replaced a lot of the furniture with newer nicer furniture this year.

The next day we woke up to beautiful weather.  I did my work out video and we had a yummy breakfast.  Then the kids did their Shrinky figures (a fun craft project I started the year before where we colored the little objects and then they shrunk in the oven).  My friend Kelsey from kindergarten met us at our rental house and then she and her two girls spent the afternoon with us at the SHARC.  The kids loved the SHARC and it was a warm 90 degree day.  They especially loved going through the logs.  Brandon and Kelsey's daughter Aberly loved going down the water slide over and over.  Olivia was still not tall enough as you have to be 48".  We ended the evening with a yummy Hello Fresh made dinner out on the patio and then a trip to Goody's for ice-cream for dessert!

The next day, Monday, we went on a fun bike ride while it was still cool in the morning to Fort Rock park which is about a mile from our house.  The kids did awesome on their bikes.  Then we got back home and got into our swim suits.  It was already really hot!  We spent most of the day at the pool and Olivia this year loved going down the water slide without her arm floats over and over again.  She had several swim lessons already this summer and was quite adept at swimming to the side of the pool on her own.  They both loved doing the rope logs and Brandon loved going down the big slides especially the float slide.  I went down several times with him until he tipped me!  I enjoyed going down the lazy river.  We got back home and made dinner and enjoyed our house's hot tub.  We even met a friend a desert squirrel!

The next day, Tuesday, I did my workout video and then enjoyed a cup of coffee out on our deck and relaxed.  We spent a lot of the day at the pool again both Tuesday and Wednesday.  The kids and I enjoyed walking around the village and going to the Sun River toy store where they each got some more Beanie Boos! We went into Bend and went shopping and then went to Deschutes Brewery one of the nights.

On Thursday, we decided to take a break from the SHARC pool and do a hike to Sparks Lake.  Before we went our hike, I did a 3 mile run around Sun River.  Then we went on our hike which was just past Mt. Bachelor.  It was a warm day and the kids wore their swim suits under their clothes so they could go swimming in the lake afterwards.  The hike was a bit longer than we thought it would be but was so pretty.  We saw beautiful views of Mt. Hood and Lava Rock.  At the end there were very pretty views of the lake and one of the Sisters Mountains.  I loved the hike.  The kids loved swimming in the lake afterwards as it was quite warm.  It was a really fun way to spend a day away from Sun River.  We got home and relaxed in the hot tub to rest our tired legs and then went on an evening bike ride.

The next day Friday we were sad because it was our last day.  We began packing up (so much mess when you are at a house for a week!).  We spent our last day at the SHARC and had really nice weather again.  It was hot and sunny the whole week in the high 80s and low 90s.  The kids got milk shakes at the SHARC (yum!).  Then we continued to pack up and went to one of our favorite restaurants-Sun River Brewery!  Sean and I enjoyed the beer sampler but Olivia was super tired and fell asleep during dinner (a rarity!).  Sean and I enjoyed extra snuggle time with her though.

The next day we had to pack up and leave.  We were fairly organized and got out on time.  The kids were excited because once we got back into Portland that night we were going to a Portland Pickles baseball game with Brendan, Ben and Jaime.  The kids had a blast at the baseball game and got ice cream out of little baseball hats.  It was such a fun vacation!
