Camping Trip Labor Day Weekend

Brandon had been begging to go camping all summer long.  We were waiting a bit for Olivia to get a little older but decided to go with our good friend the Mowery's Labor Day weekend. We decided on a camping site we go to often at the Gorge, Memaloose State Park, before we had kids since it was just about an hour and a half away.  We booked the site for two nights but chose to just stay for one night as the weather was not that great (it was cloudy, rainy and in the high 60s).  I bought a new instant tent that fits 10 people since our old 10 year old Coleman tent that I bought when I was working at Target when Sean and I just began dating was too small for all four of us. I also got us a camping stove so we were all set to go.

Unfortunately, the Mowery's daughter Addie got sick with a fever the day we were going to go so she could not come and Brooke stayed home with her. Taylor and Logan went though and met us there.  Brandon and Logan were super excited to see each other and to explore the campground.  There was a playground within sight of our campground so we were able to let them go play while we stayed at the campground.  The boys also loved playing with Brandon's Transformer Rescue Bots near the campsite.

Olivia just loved walking all over the campground and exploring and seeing dogs.  Whenever she would see a dog she would excitedly exclaim "dog!"  We were able to set our new tent up in just minutes (part of the appeal of the instant tent) and it was huge!  There was a room divider in the middle so we were able to put Olivia in her own room and in her pack n play.  We had a yummy dinner with watermelon and hamburgers. Olivia went to bed and slept through the night great in her pack n play.  Brandon and Logan stayed up a bit later and we had a campfire and they had yummy s'moores.  It was a fun night.

The next day we went to the Bonneville dam and fish hatchery and then we stopped off at Bridal Veil Falls and did about a mile hike to see a pretty waterfall.  The kids enjoyed the hike and even Olivia was able to walk most of it on her own.  It was a very fun weekend and Brandon did great his second time camping and Olivia did great her first time camping. Brandon already wants to go camping again.

Of course Olivia wanted to be just like Logan and Brandon and sit in a camping chair
