Girls weekend with Brooke and Addie!

So Brandon and I went to San Francisco earlier in the summer together and afterwards I promised Olivia that Brooke and I would take her and Addie on a girls' weekend to Lincoln City.  The girls had been looking forward to their Girls' weekend all summer and had been talking about it constantly.  We booked a hotel back in February for a Saturday night during the middle of August at the Best Western Plus since it was reasonably priced and they had free breakfast and a heated pool and a hot tub (on the girls' wish list).  Brooke and Addie came over to our house and dropped Logan off at our house (Sean was taking Brandon and Logan to the Wings and Waves water park in McMinnville).  We loaded up Brooke's car and then we were off!  The girls loved sitting next to each other in the van.  They colored and did their "kindergarten" workbooks on the way over to the coast.
Sean took a picture of Logan and Brandon after they finished at the water park
We got to the coast around lunch time and the girls were hungry so we stopped at McDonald's to get them lunch.  The girls loved their Happy Meals and being able to run around in the Indoor Play Ground.  Brooke and I did not want to eat at McDonald's so we just got a Diet Coke and headed over to Safeway where we got some yummy deli sandwiches.  Then we headed to the Outlet Mall where we went to a few shops.  Olivia and Addie both picked out running shoes at the Nike Outlet in their next sizes which was fun.  After we were done shopping (the girls couldn't last more than a few stores) we checked in at the hotel.  The hotel was actually really nice.  There were two queen beds in the room and a separate living room section area which was nice so Brooke and I could scrapbook while the girls slept.

Fun lunch at McDonald's
The girls did not nap (we tried to get them to nap in the car) so they were a little tired but wanted to go to the beach before we headed to dinner.  So we headed out to the beach.  It was a beautiful day, no rain and it was not windy.  The girls had a lot of fun running around at the beach and playing in the sand.  We were getting hungry so we decided to go to Mo's for dinner.  There was a bit of a wait at Mo's but we got seated finally and had yummy fish and chips.  After dinner we came back to the hotel and the girls had a lot of fun having an evening swim before going to bed.  Brooke and I enjoyed going in the hot tub (that "heated pool" was very cold!).  The girls loved running back and forth from the hot tub to the pool.  They also enjoyed playing with Olivia's mermaids in the pool.  We finished swimming and rinsed off in the shower and got the girls into their PJs.  At this point it was 9:30 and the girls were tired since they had not napped.  They did look really cute in their matching unicorn PJs.  We brushed teeth and read stories and got the girls to bed.  Then Brooke and I had fun scrapbooking for a few hours before going to bed.

Olivia slept well with me at the hotel and slept in until past 8:00 AM (she was tired likely from her active day yesterday!).  We rushed down to get our free buffet breakfast.  The girls tried a little bit of everything but kind of nibbled on everything.  Everyone around us kept asking us if they were twins. We ate a good breakfast and then decided to let the girls go swimming before we had to check out.  The girls had a lot of fun swimming and then we checked out.  We decided to go to Olivia Beach (just near the hotel) and let the girls run around the beach.  The girls had fun playing at the beach and then we stopped by the Christmas Shop (Brooke and Addie had never been there).  Olivia picked out a fun ornament to remind us of our trip.  Then we went and got lunch at Subway.  The girls at their lunch and luckily were tired after it and fell asleep most of the ride home and got a good hour nap in.  On the way home we stopped at Sokol Blosser winery and did some wine tasting, a good way to end our fun girls' weekend trip!  In fact we have decided to make this an annual trip!
