Fun activities in late July and early August

We went to Olivia's good friend Addie's third birthday party in late July at Munroe Park in Wilsonville.  The park was really fun and they rented a shelter and after everyone was done at the shelter we climbed up to play in the fountains.  The kids had a blast together.  Later that day we went to visit Sean's Grandma Nelson who was recently diagnosed with Colon Cancer and who was going to have surgery.  We spent a nice afternoon with her.  The next day we went to the Portland Beer Festival with the kids.  We were amazed that they had a great time (while we got to enjoy some great beer) and loved going on the Max train to get there (it was their first time).

The next weekend, Sean's mother and his sister Dawn's family came and stayed with us as Sean's grandma had her surgery and they wanted to be around to support her after the surgery.  Our house was full but it was fun getting all the cousins together.  The weather was awesome so we got out our pools in the backyard and made full use of them.  We went over to Sean's Aunt's house in the late afternoon and enjoyed a BBQ there.

The following Thursday I took the day off and I drove the kids down to Enchanted Forest in Salem and met my mom there.  The kids loved Enchanted Forest this year and were really not scared of any of it this time and really knew the fairy tales now.  We ran into the Mowery family randomly (who were on their way down to Sun River) at Enchanted Forest towards the beginning and that made it even more fun!  Olivia's favorite event was the Snow white house and Brandon loved the log ride roller coaster.  We got back from Enchanted Forest and my Uncle Carl came to stay with us for a few days.  The kids loved my Uncle and he watched them on Friday so they didn't have to go to daycare.  We met my Dad at the Hillsboro Hops game that Saturday which was fun.  The kids loved the bounce area at the Hops game.  The weather was hot and beautiful too.
