Silver Creek Falls

Some of the State Parks began to open in the middle of May and our next door neighbors went to Silver Falls and had such a good time.  Brooke and her two older kids went with us and met us there in separate cars.  We left pretty early in the morning as we heard it could get crowded and wanted to be careful with the virus going on.  We also wanted to hike the majority of the waterfalls which we knew could take time.  I packed our lunch the night before and we got the park at around 10:30 AM just before it was starting to get busy.  It was overcast but not raining which was a plus!

Excited to hike!

We left the parking lot and headed the less traveled way over to the Winter Falls trailhead.  WE headed along the Rim trail and came to the beautiful Winter Falls which were quite robust still from all the spring rain.  They were my favorite falls and there was hardly anyone nearby which was super nice.  We decided the kids probably couldn't do the full 7.5 mile trek where you got to see all 10 water falls but instead took them on the Winter Falls Loop which was 5.6 miles and we got to see 8 waterfalls as we went off the trail to see an extra one.

We had fun going over a bridge on our way to the Middle North Falls.  The bridge made for some really cute pictures.

The Middle North Falls was my second favorite waterfall

Drake Falls

After we passed the Middle North Falls we headed over to the Drake Falls which were much smaller than the falls we had seen and less spectacular.  We then took a short 0.5 mile detour up to Double Falls which was well worth the detour.

Beautiful Double Falls

After the Double Falls we kept going and got to the Lower north Falls fairly quickly.  This waterfallw as quite a bit smaller but the foliage around it was beautiful.
Lower North Falls

After the Lower North Falls we walked about a 1.5 miles to the Lower South Falls.  It was more crowded by the Lower South and South Falls as they are two most popular waterfalls and it is also an easy hike from the parking lot to them.  The kids were pretty tired at this point but were being troopers.  The Lower South Falls were beautiful and we got to go behind another waterfall which was fun!  The South Falls were more crowded but still beautiful.  The ends ended up hiking 6 miles and earned a Dairy Queen treat on our way home!  It was so fun being outside and I had a blast taking pictures.

Lower South Falls did not disappoint!
