Corvallis Fun in the Middle of June

We had only seen my parents once in May for my birthday since COVID hit and we were all missing my parents a lot.  I had the week after school off from work so I decided to rent an Airbnb since we were worried about exposing my parents.  I found a cute Airbnb near campus and not far from my parents house that was a 2 bedroom home attached to the primary residence.  They allowed both the dogs without any issues and were cheap.  We ended up booking the place for two nights starting on Wednesday and checking out on that Friday so we could get back and hang out with Sean over Father's Day weekend.  We headed to Corvallis and got there around lunch time.  We ate lunch outside and Olivia did her zoom Wednesday gymnastics class.  Teddy also got reacquainted with Pumpkin and was pretty nice to her.  We checked into our Airbnb and then headed back to my parents' house for dinner out on the porch.  Then we headed back to the Airbnb for bed.

The next day we got up and I picked up Starbucks and we ate breakfast out on the deck at my parents' house.  Then we headed to Newport for the day with the dogs.  My mom made a picnic lunch.  It was supposed to be in the low 60s but not rain at the coast.  We got there and ended up going to Agate Beach.  It was not very crowded there which was nice.  The dogs enjoyed the beach and it was Teddy's first time to the ocean.  He ran right in!  We spent a fun 1.5 hours on the beach and then it started to get very windy and cold.  We were going to do a hike at another beach but it ended up being too windy and cold so we just headed back to Corvallis.

We got back from the beach and went to our Airbnb for a bit to rest.  Then we got to go to Burst's candy-yum!  After that we went back to CiCi's house and ate dinner out on the porch.  After dinner we headed to Walnut Park-a park near and dear to my heart where I spent a lot of my childhood.  Corvallis was in Phase 2 so the kids could play on the playground!

I discovered that there goats in our Airbnb house that were friendly.  Teddy had fun meeting them.  The next day we checked out of our Airbnb in the morning and went to my parents' house and hung outside for a while.  We decided to go to Peavey Arborteum in the afternoon and to have a picnic there.  The dogs both had a blast swimming in the lake and Teddy full on swam!  We got back from our hike and relaxed a bit and then had yummy Mexican food outside on my parents' porch.  We then said goodbye to my parents and headed home.  It was a very fun several days in Corvallis and so nice to see my parents for more than a few hours.
