Brandon: The fourth month (March 2011)

At three months on March 2, 2011, Brandon was 15 lbs and 9 ounces and was 25” according to my measurement.  During March, Brandon started sleeping through the night quite often.  If he woke up it would usually only be early in the morning around 5:00 AM for a quick feeding.  Brandon would generally go to bed around 9:30 and sleep anywhere from 7:00 to 8:00 AM.  Brandon was still eating every 2.5-3 hours, which amounted to about 6 times a day.

Brandon found his feet this month and loves playing with them.  He also laughs now purposefully and has been more proficient at grabbing things.  Brandon also likes to play games like Peek-A-Boo with us.  We got a really cute video of him playing Peek-A-Boo with our good friend Brendan.  Brandon can also sit up supported in the Bumbo or leaning against a chair.  He likes to stand on feet with us helping him and toward the end of the month started using his Exersaucer Activity Center.  He still loves his Rain Forest play mat and can easily grab the toys hanging from it.

Brandon really started smiling purposefully this month and laughing

So photogenic on Daddy
This month we joined several playgroups that were formed through the St. Vincent’s New Mom’s Group I started going to last month.  It was fun meeting some new moms through these play groups.  We continued going to our Wednesday and Thursday New Mom’s Groups too on top of these play groups and continued getting together with Samantha and Gianna.  Amara also continued to visit in the evenings when Sean was at work.

My sister Rachel came to visit in the middle of March during her Spring Break for three nights.  It was so much fun hanging out with her and having Brandon see his Aunt.  We went walking and got our nails done and watched a lot of silly TV.  It was very nice having her company.

Brandon loved getting his diaper changed at this age-he loved the attention
During this month, I also developed severe insomnia.  It started with me waking up in the middle of the night and being unable to go to fall back asleep and then escalated to me being unable to fall asleep as well.  It was terrible.  I went through almost two weeks sleeping only 3-4 hours a night.  I got on Ambien and that helped and helped me get my sleep schedule back.  Toward the end of the month we visited my parents again toward the end of March and had a great time.
