Pomerleau Family Blog: Brandon's Five!

I write you this letter and its the day after Christmas. I have been a bit behind with my blog and have been catching up over Christmas. At least I am writing this in the same month you had your birthday!

Five is such a big year! You are going to start kindergarten, go to a new school, and make new friends. There is a lot of changes that will happen this year but I am confident that you will do great with the changes. You had a lot of changes this year as you left the school (Rocking Horse) that you have gone since you were 2 years old in the summer and went to a new school (Horizon). You made the transition fairly seamlessly and you love your new school.

You have changed I believe the most in the last year from four to five. You have turned into a funny, charismatic little boy. You say the most funny things and you love to be funny. You have learned so much this year, you are a sponge and soak up knowledge so quickly. You can count to 50, know about 90% of your letters by sight, and are learning how to write and read now. You are in the Park class at your school (which is the most advanced pre-school) and your teacher told me in a parent-teacher conference that you are excelling in that class. You are respectful and listen well and aim to please and a joy to teach too she said. I like Horizon because it is teaching you a lot of rules so the transition to kindergarten will be that much easier. This Christmas, you played "Go Fish" a lot and love that game and Sorry too.

We call you affectionately the "Gentle Giant" because you are so huge and gentle for the most part. You are very gentle with your sister most of the time even though she does like to push your buttons and tease you. It has been very fun watching your relationship with Olivia evolve over the last year. You two have gotten very close and now that Olivia likes to play imaginative games and games like hide and seek you have gotten even closer. I am excited to watch you guys continue to play together and use your imagination. You guys truly are each other's best friends. Olivia looks up to you but holds her ground and you are nice and let her hold her ground.

You a nice guy and have quite a few friends at your new school and your old school along with family friends. Your best friends are Logan still, Gavin (from Rocking Horse), Andrew (from Rocking Horse), and you have quite a few friends at Horizon including Cole, Caleb, Hayden, and Turner. You played outdoor soccer for the first time and loved it. It got you into really good running shape and you got to play with her friend Andrew and his dad helped coach it. Your coaches all said you had a positive attitude, good sportsmanship, and listened well. You were quite good and so tall compared to all the other kids. You scored quite a few goals.

Activities: Going to the park, cooking with mommy and daddy, playing hide and seek, playing board games, playing with his Ci Ci
Toys: Playmobil, legos, power rangers, Connect 4 Launchers

Size at 5 year check up: 46.75" (99%), 58 lbs (99%)

You are just a big proportionate guy! Dr. Armsby believes you will be probably 6 ft 2 inches tall at least and you have broad big shoulders and big feet (have been in size 1 for a while almost size 2).

Brandon, I love you so much. I am sad that you are growing so big. I hope you will still want to cuddle and love on your mommy. You are a great sleeper (which your dad and I really appreciate). You are sweet, gentle soul and I feel so privileged to be your mommy. I am so happy you have come into our lives.
