Start of a new school year!

We put our cute Halloween PJs on even in late August once the weather got a little cooler.  It was a bit early but fun!  I love Halloween, its my favorite holiday besides Christmas so I wanted to get some good use of the PJs before they outgrew them.

In late August, Grammy and Papa came to our house and stayed for a weekend and helped Daddy build the playground we had promised the kids since we moved back in May.  We bought the playground just before we moved on sale at Costco.  Little did we know that our little $900 playground would end up costing us about $2,000 as we ended up paying for a stump to be removed in that area, to level the ground in that area, and a cedar perimeter for the playground and 9 cubic yards cedar bark mulch to cover the playground ground.  The playground turned out great though and we hope the kids will enjoy it for many years!

We were going to go camping with the Mowery Family in Government Camp but the weekend we chose it ended up pouring down rain and having thunder and lightning in late August.  It was so nice and dry all summer so this was a major bummer!  We ended up having a sleep over in our backyard with Logan and set up our tent in the backyard.  We took the kiddos swimming, went out to dinner, and went to the Children's Museum instead.  It was still a fun weekend.

Brandon and Olivia started a new school year.  Brandon went to a new school, Horizon Christian Day School as it had more structured pre-school options (it has 3 preschool rooms and each room is by a kids' cognitive ability).  The teachers are very engaged and all have their Master's degrees and teaching licenses and are younger and motivated to interact with the kids.  Brandon tested into the third level of the preschools (the Park room) which is out in a trailer with tons of room right near the playground.  There are mainly 4 and 5 year olds in his classroom which is nice.  They have a very structured curriculum with lots of education with playing.  They also have a awesome playground and a huge gym and library.  We have been very happy with Brandon's new school and he has adjusted very well.

Olivia stayed in the infant room (she is moving in December when she is close to 2.5 years old).  But had some fun at her school with the Reptile guy coming to her school!  She bravely held a huge snake and a tarantula!  We have been very happy to find such good schools for both of our kids!
