Tory's wedding and festivities

In July, I took a plane down to San Francisco to spend the weekend celebrating my youngest sister Tory's Bachelorette Party.  I was nervous because it was my first time away from Olivia for more than one night.  She was very attached to mom at the time.  The plan was that I was going to drop the kids off at daycare but Brandon woke up not feeling very well so I kept him home with me in the morning and then Sean went home early with him and worked from home.   I was supposed to drive my car to Sean's work in Gresham and drop Brandon off with him and then park at the long term parking but I hit terrible traffic.  Sean ended up having to come and pick me up at a airport hotel and then drop me off and park the car and shuttle back to the car.  It was quite complicated.  Anyways, I got to the airport just in time and then got on the airplane and I was on my way to San Francisco-a weekend of freedom!

Rachel and I were the co-maids of honor so we planned Tory's Bachelorette Party with the other bridesmaids.  Tory luckily gave us quite a few ideas on what she wanted to do (basically planned the party!).  Rachel was amazing and organized most of it as it was a bit harder to organize from a state away.  The first day we hung out and had a few drinks at Tory's apartment and then went to a very yummy Italian restaurant that had a fixed menu.  Tory had her close friends from out of town come with her.  Then Rachel and I went back to her house in Oakland for the night.

The next day we had a full day planned!  We rented a Bar Fly bus (basically a decked out school bus that had couches and even a bed in it!) for the day.  This was nice because we could all drink and not have to worry about driving.  We all met at Safeway in the City and then we were on our way around 10:30 AM.  We headed to the Russian River to go floating down the river in inner tubes.  Unfortunately, the water was not super high due to the drought in California but we were able to make it down the river most of the way.  We realized it was going to take quite a while to get down the river so Tory and a few of her friends made it to shore and hitch hiked to our Bar Fly bus and got him to come back for us.

We went out to a yummy dinner at Stumptown Brewery.  It was good to get some food in us as floating down the river with drinks made us hangry as Tory calls it.  After we finished eating, we got back on the bus and went to Isis Oasis in Guiserville.  Isis Oasis contained farm animals, a temple to pray with nature, and other cool and somewhat strange items.  We stayed in a giant house that had at least 6 rooms and could sleep 20 people.  We played a fun Questions game where Tory had to guess what questions Tom answered.  Tory actually did pretty well with answering most of the questions Tom answered-they were a match made!  We had some drinks and then played Cards of Matrimony (a fun spin off of Cards of Humanity) and then most people went to bed. I ended up staying up later with Tory and a few of her friends playing Cards of Humanity outside on the deck.

We got up the next morning and headed to Coppola Winery which wasn't very far away.  We all got on the bus on time (which is amazing) and got to the winery right when it opened at 11:00 AM.  The winery had an amazing pool area with comfortable chairs.  We had some really yummy drinks and a great lunch.  Then it was time for us to head back to the City.  We took an Ubber because Tory was having so much fun she wanted to stay a few hours longer.  I got back home at 10:30 PM tired but having a great weekend.  Luckily I had the next day off to recuperate.

Tory's wedding was the weekend of Labor Day.  We headed to Hood River for the wedding festivities on Thursday afternoon.  We were staying in a house near the city with my parents, Patrick and Rachel.  My Aunt and Uncle were nearby at a house which was fun.  We had a quick lunch at Burgarville on our way out and then got to Hood River and went to the park for some fun before dinner.  We had a yummy dinner at a Pizza place near the center of town.

The next day all of the bridal party got to go get Mani/Pedis and then we had a fun bridal luncheon to celebrate Tory.  That night we had the Rehearsal dinner at a yummy restaurant called Brian's Pourhouse and Olivia and Brandon and their first baby sitter-Valerie!  It was really fun to get some adult time at the Rehearsal dinner.  Then we all got to go the Welcome Party that Tory and Tom had and see a lot of my cousins that I have not seen since Rachel's wedding.  It was great seeing everyone and their kids.

We woke up the morning of the wedding and went over to Tory and Tom's villa to get our hair done. I ended up wearing my hair down in curls.  It was fun getting ready with all the other girls and watching Tory get ready.  Rachel's husband Patrick made some really cute signs by hand.  After we got our hair done we headed for the wedding site and helped Tory get into her dress and drank some mimosas.  It was really fun seeing Tory's wedding site for the first time.

Signs Patrick made-that signature cocktail was a hit very refreshing!

Sean arrived with Brandon and Olivia about an hour before the wedding.  Olivia loved exploring the grounds of the wedding.  There were roosters, horses, flowers, pumpkins growing on a tree, and a fun swing!

The wedding ceremony went great with no hitches.  Olivia got a little tired of sitting with Daddy during the ceremony so she came up and was held by me.  She then went off with Daddy for a while and unfortunately right when the ceremony was over got stung by an aggressive wasp.  She was very upset by this and her face swelled up.  We got some kids benadryl in her and she eventually calmed down and fell asleep for an hour during dinner.  When she woke up, she was in a great mood to party but did not want to take her band aid off her face!  We danced and had a lot of fun but Olivia did not want us to leave her with the baby sitter Valerie.  Brandon on the other hand loved the baby sitter and playing with his second cousins!

The day after the wedding we had a fun brunch at Tory and Tom's villa and then hung out at our house.  We then had all of my mom's brothers and sisters and my cousins and their families over for a yummy Shish Kabob dinner that Sean made.  It was so fun to see all of our family together again and to hang out.  The kids all had so much fun together.

We left on Labor day to go back home.  It was not fun packing up all of our stuff to go home.  We stopped off at Wahclella Falls Trailhead on our way home.  It was supposed to be an "easy" family hike but it ended up being quite arduous.  The trail was very steep and high and slippery.  I was very nervous on numerous occasions that Brandon and I were going to fall.  We ended up making it to the waterfall and Brandon made it the whole way on his own a full 3 miles!  It was a perfect way to end our fun wedding weekend.
