Olivia's dance recital

Olivia had her dance recital on a Friday evening again this year.  It was nice because I had the entire week off so I didn't have to take the day off to take her to her dance rehearsal on Thursday.  Brandon was not super excited about having to go to Olivia's dance rehearsal but he did not have to go to the actual recital as he was able to go over to his friend John's house.  The recital was at the Newmark theater again in downtown Portland.  Addie had her recital on the same night which was nice but the girls were in opposite sides of the performance (Addie was earlier in the performance) and Olivia was one of the last performances.  We got to the dress rehearsal and I got to take some pictures of their dress rehearsal.  Olivia's class this year did a tap dance to "walkin' on sunshine."

Sean got off work early and we dropped Brandon off at his friend John's house.  We left for downtown at 4:30 PM and it took us 45 minutes to get downtown.  We found a parking spot pretty easily luckily close to the theater.  We had reservations at a fun brew pub called the Yard House before Olivia's recital.  We had to hustle through dinner to get her to the recital before it started as they wanted all the girls dropped off before the recital started even though they were one of the last acts.

Brooke and I also wanted to get photos of Olivia and Addie before their performances and Addie was one of the first ones going so we had to hustle to get there before she had to go off with her group.  We got there and I got photos of Olivia and Addie before the performance started.  Sean was moaning about having to sit through the performances but did self medicate with some beer at least.

Silly face!

Excited to perform

Addie did the Pre-Ballet 1 class and their class did a ballet dance to Cinderella's waltz.  Addie did really well and her class was on stage actually for quite a while. I got some cute pictures of Addie performing.

After Addie's performance, there were several more and then intermission and then we sat through almost the entire second half of the performances until Olivia's group finally performed.  It was almost 9:00 PM when they performed and they had been waiting for 2.5 hours in the waiting room (which according to Olivia was quite boring).  Olivia has quite a big class of 10 girls and they did great despite it being so late.  They were energetic and smiling the whole time.  Olivia was comfortable up there and seemed to be having a good time.  Unfortunately the lighting was not the best with their costumes and the backdrop and they were moving fast with their tap moves but I got some cute photos.  Sean got their performance on video.

Sassy walk!

Awesome end to their program
I knew from the dress rehearsal that the last performance of the night was at least a 10 minute performance.  Sean and I were able to sneak out before that performance to grab Olivia as it was already past 9:00 PM and we needed to get Brandon from his friend John's house.  We had a pink rose for Olivia which she liked.  We made it home by 9:30 PM and was able to get Olivia into bed by a little after 10:00 PM at least.  She was super tired and ready for bed.  It was a fun 2nd dance recital day for her!
