Pomerleau Family Blog: Last day of school!

The last day of school this year fell on Tuesday June 20th due to the 9 snow days we had this year and all the days we had to make up. I got some photos of the kids wearing the same outfits they wore on the first day of school in the Fall. It was amazing to see how much Brandon had changed in 9 short months physically. He is much leaner now and his face much less round. He looks so much more like a boy now. It made my mom's heart sad to see how old he looks now! Brandon's sign said that it was his last day of Kindergarten and that he is 6.5 years old, his teacher is Mrs. Borrelli and when he grows up he wants to be an archeologist.

I got some cute photos of the kids together before Sean took Brandon off to school. Then Sean walked Brandon into his last day of kindergarten (normally he drops him off). Brandon ended up doing awesome academically this year at Alberta Rider. I believe it helped that he had an awesome teacher, Mrs. Borrelli and he had a good back ground at Horizon last year. It also helped being one of the older kids too in his grade. Brandon got an excellent report, he was exceeding expectation in writing and in reading (which were things he had struggled with) and was proficient in all the categories. He got 88/88 or 100% for knowing all of his site words when he was tested. He was in one of the higher reading groups. Best of all, he loves to learn and finds it fun. He genuinely loved going to school every day and was sad when he was sick and had to miss it. It was a great year and an awesome way to start off his school years at Alberta Rider.

I snapped some photos of Olivia as well even though she is doing pre-school through the summer. She did not change quite as much as Brandon but seem quite a bit older too. Slow down kids! Olivia's sign said that she is almost 4, last day of Jr. Kindergarten, her teacher is Miss. April, and that she wants to be a rockstar when she grows up.
