Park fun and the zoo in early June

In early June the weather improved, and I decided to pick the kids up early from after school care and preschool and take them to the zoo in the late afternoon.  We are zoo members so we can go for free whenever we want.  It was so much fun because there was hardly any one there and we had the entire zoo to ourselves.  The animals were especially active as well.  The kids went on the Merry-Go-Round, their favorite and then we got fresh fruit ice-cream.  Then we explored the zoo and had a blast seeing the active giraffes and lions.  Brandon loved the Cheetah.  Then when we had enough we headed back home.

We also had a blast going to the park often, with the kids’ favorite being Durham Park.  We met up the Mowery family and went to the Barnes and Noble Summer reading fair for Alberta Rider and then played at the park afterwards.  The kids got some good reading suggestions for the summer.  Olivia’s birthday outfit that I ordered at Etsy arrived and we had a fun time trying it on!
