Tulip Festival 2018

We ended up going to the Tulip Festival in the middle of April.  The weather had been very rainy the past few weekends and we finally had a break in the weather.  We decided to go on a Sunday in hopes that it would be less crowded and Logan and Brandon had a baseball game the Saturday prior.  Brooke showed up at our house at about 10:00 AM and we began loading car seats into our car and then we were off.  We were able to fit all 3 of her kids and our 2 kids in our Honda Pilot which was awesome.  We were making great time and were on the back roads until we were about 5 miles from the Tulip Festival where we came to a stand still.  It ended up taking us 1 hour and 15 minutes to go the last 5 miles.  Lesson learned to Brooke and I to live super early if its a nice day at the Tulip Festival!  Also boo hiss to Google Maps for not warning us of the crappy traffic (apparently their server was not working in the Tulip Festival area).

We finally got the Tulip Festival at around 12:30 (almost 2.5 hours after we left).  We immediately got our photos in the tulips and enjoyed walking through there.  It was quite crowded but we still had some space amongst the tulips and they were in full bloom.

All packed in and ready to go!

After we were done playing amongst the tulips we got some tickets and the kids got to go play in the bounce houses.  While it was super crowded, the lines were not that bad to the bounce houses.  The kids had a lot of fun bouncing.  Then we waited in line and got the kids a treat before we headed back home.  Brandon and Logan ended up getting snow cones and Olivia and Addie chose Cotton Candy.  I was going to get lunch there but the lunch line ended up being super long so we just got the kids their treats and then headed back to the car.  We made it back home with hardly any traffic.  Next time we know to leave super early!
