Baking cookies, Tigard Holiday lights, and Zoo light fun!

The second weekend in December we were looking forward to less activities!  We did bake Christmas cookies to give to our friends and our teachers on Saturday.  We baked our yummy white chocolate gingerbread molasses cookies (a yummy recipe my Aunt handed down to my mom) and old fashion sugar cookies.  We had the dough for the sugar cookies Saturday and then let it sit in the fridge overnight before rolling out the shapes and baking them the next day.

Saturday night the whole family including Lulu went to the Tigard Holiday lights which was a fun light show put on by the City of Tigard with residents in the route.  There was a fun path that we got to walk and we ended up at a local coffee shop with hot chocolate at the end.  The kids had fun and Lulu liked the walk.  There were Christmas carolers as well.  After the lights we ate dinner at a local Thai restaurant that was very good.  It was a fun way to end our Saturday.

We finished making our sugar cookies the next day.  The kids had fun rolling out the dough and we baked them.  Both kids enjoyed decorating them and putting the frosting on them.  We then went to my soccer game that I was playing in (an adult indoor league that I was filling for).  We then met our neighbors at Zoo Lights.  It was really fun taking them there as they had never been before.  We walked around and got the kids treats and the adults a beer.  Then we went on the zoo train.  It was nice weather and not super cold.  It was a fun way to get in the Christmas spirit and our annual tradition.
