Camping with the Pomerleau Family at Fort Stevens near Astoria

Sean's family decided to have a family get together at Fort Stevens in the summer.  We tried to get campgrounds in February but they were all taken at the coast in the summer.  We were able to find spots though at the KOA RV private campground and decided on renting a cabin next to Dawn's family.  Sean's parents brought their camping trailer and got an RV spot.  We decided on getting together in August in hopes of good weather.  Sean took a Monday off and I took the whole next week off so we didn't have to pay for camps for the kids and we spent Saturday and Sunday night at the campground.  Sean's Aunts and Uncles found out about the trip and they all decided to come too and then spread Sean's grandma's ashes in the ocean on a boat trip on Sunday.  Sean's parents stayed with us the night before and then we all headed to the coast fairly early on Saturday morning.  We met Sean's sister for lunch in Astoria before heading to the campground and getting settled in.  The kids were excited to see our cabins and all the fun amenities of the site.  The kids immediately headed to the fun bounce pad and the mini golf area.

Bouncing away on the bounce pad-a big perk!

Lulu loved being outside with us
After playing some mini golf and bouncing we headed back to our cabins where we all had dinner and made a big campfire.  The kids learned how to build campfires from Papa which was fun.  Lulu had a blast hanging out with everyone.  After that we headed to bed in our little cabin which consisted 2 sets of bunk beds with one of them being a double bed.

We woke up the next morning and headed to the long line to get the free pancakes.  They were yummy!  We took Lulu to the fun pet park area.  Then we let the kids bounce some more on the bounce pad and then headed to the beach to play before Dawn, Jose, Sean's parents and Aunts and Uncles headed out on the boat to spread his Grandma's ashes.  We got stuck with all of the kids and took them swimming in the indoor pool.  Luckily there was a hot tub there.  After that the kids got dressed and we went back to the bounce pad and played some mini golf before getting dinner ready.  We had a yummy wine and cheese spread for dinner that night and then headed back to the campground to get some sleep!

We had some more pancakes the next morning and let the kids jump and play mini golf before we packed up and headed out.  We hit some traffic but made it home by the early afternoon which was good as Sean had to work half the day.  I unloaded the car and got everything cleaned up and put away.  It was an exhausting but fun trip.  The kids and I were headed to California in 2 days on Wednesday to visit my Aunt and Uncle and my sister Tory and her family.
