Pre-Halloween Fun 2019

This year, the week before Halloween we were going to be in Disneyland enjoying a lot of the Halloween festivities there but I was still able to enjoy some of the local Halloween fun with the kids before we left on our trip. I got our house all decorated in early October, always fun! Olivia helped me this year.

We went to Bauman’s Farm near Woodburn this year and it ended up being a huge harvest festival. We were able to go on the 2nd Friday in October as the kids had the day off of school. We lucked out as the weather was awesome and sunny. It was a lot bigger than the normal pumpkin festival we go to usually at Roloff farms. There was laser tag, fun slides, a giant swing, hay rides to an actual giant corn maze, bounce pads, and yummy food and cider. It was also pet friendly which was super nice as Lulu had just as much fun as the kids! We were able to get to the farm by around 10:30 AM which was nice as it was not super crowded yet. We bought the all day activity bracelets so the kids could do all of the fun stuff at the festival. We started off letting the kids go on a giant swing.

Then we headed to get the kids signed up for laser tag. It was good we did that as as the laser tag filled up for the day a few hours later. After we got signed up for laser tag we shot some apples and then headed to a large hay bale stack where the kids got to climb and hide amongst the hay bales. Olivia and Addie liked taking Lulu in the hay tunnels with them. The kids then had a blast going down the giant slide built into the hay bales.  After that we went on the hay ride out to the pumpkin patch and the giant corn maze.  The kids had a blast going through the giant corn maze.  Lulu had a lot of fun too in the corn maze.  We headed to the pumpkin patch and had fun amongst the pumpkins.  It was neat because you could actually pick the pumpkins (they were not already picked for us).

We went back on the hay ride and back to the farm and had some lunch that we brought.  Then the kids had a blast going in the bounce houses.  After that it was time to head to laser tag.  The laser tag was amazing, it was in a giant barn with corn mazes.  The kids had a blast even Olivia and Addie.  After that we got the kids treats and Brooke and I had a yummy Bauman cider and then we headed home.  It was a super fun day!  Both the kids and Lulu were exhausted after!

2 days later on Sunday Olivia and I met my sister Rachel and my nephew Jasper at Red Berry Farm in Sherwood to go to their little harvest festival.  We had a lot of fun going on a little wagon ride, playing at the bounce house, riding little trike cars, and then getting lost in a very high corn maze.  The weather was nice and it was fun to spend some time with Jasper and my sister.

We made it out finally!
We had some more Halloween fun decorating the candy Halloween house from Trader Joes, dressing Lulu up as Ewok, and then celebrating Halloween at Brandon's Cub Scout pack meeting by painting pumpkins and gourds.

The following weekend we met Jasper and Rachel again at the Oregon zoo and went to the fun Zoo Howlween.  We went for the first time last year.  The kids get to get dressed up and go trick-or-treating at the zoo in their costumes.  It was fun taking Jasper this year.  We went Sunday morning so it was not super crowded.  It also helped it was a bit rainy.  The kids got lots of candy and had a lot of fun seeing all the animals.  It is definitely a fun tradition for us.

Wrapping up Howloween 2019 was a success!
